The Summer Bridge program at Northeastern Illinois University provides opportunities for you to get a jumpstart on your academic career, meet other students, become more familiar with NEIU and build your confidence before you begin the fall semester.

Priority selection for the program is for first-time, first-year students admitted for Spring 2024 and Fall 2024. However, spots may be available for continuing and transfer students.

What programs does Summer Bridge offer?

Summer Transition Program (STP)

Experience college life and a free college course with STP.

  • Welcome program: Friday, June 28, 2024
  • Program dates: Monday, July 1 through Thursday, Aug. 8, 2024
  • Program days and hours: Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
  • Location: Northeastern Illinois University, 5500 North St. Louis Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 60625

  • Workshop and course materials are also provided.
