Introduction

The minor in Educational Studies is designed to allow students to investigate the educational process in specific areas such as training, teaching, learning, and school in various areas that are of interest to the students. The minor is designed in consultation with the Educational Foundations Coordinator based on the interests and questions of the students.

Program Benefits

Students seeking a minor in Educational Studies are able to design a program that specifically meets their needs, interests, and the questions they have about educational processes broadly defined. Students work with the Educational Foundations Coordinator to identify educational studies coursework across the university in one or more of the following areas: anthropology, history, philosophy, psychology, and sociology.

Career Options

Students may leverage the minor in Educational Studies for careers in educational areas that support teaching and learning outside of the classroom. Career avenues include working with community-based organizations and social services agencies in areas related to educational issues, policies, and practices.
