Each student in the Goodwin College of Education (GCOE) is assigned an advisor to provide individualized guidance and direction about how to achieve academic and career goals.
Your advisor will assist you academically and personally during your time at Northeastern. You will meet virtually or in person with your advisor before you register for classes each semester. Your advisor will give you advice about courses, majors and job options. In addition, they will help you address any issues that you might encounter, such as meeting licensure requirements, transferring coursework, or accessing academic, career or health and wellness support.
The most effective advising relationships are those in which the advisor and advisee know each other well, so students should be prepared to speak candidly with their advisor about their goals, backgrounds and concerns.
To contact a GCOE advisor, consult the information below. If you need assistance, please contact the Office of the Dean. The Office is located in Lech Walesa Hall, Room LWH 4044, and is open from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. On other days, and at any time, you can contact the office by email at gcoe@neiu.edu and by phone at (773) 442-5500.
