Northeastern Illinois University’s responsibility as a public comprehensive university involves being a "steward of place"—to enhance and deepen our relationship with our community and neighbors.
Students, faculty and staff also play a role in how Northeastern connects with its surroundings and acts as a good neighbor—whether it's by observing parking restrictions, respecting nearby residents or being sensitive to noise levels.
Under the smoke-free campus regulations, students and employees are asked to please refrain from smoking, loitering or littering on our neighbors' property. Cigarette receptacles are located at certain areas along the perimeter of the Main Campus. If you must smoke, please use them and help Northeastern continue to be good citizens of our community.
Neighbors, if you would like to report a problem, please use our online form to help the University track and address any trouble spots.
