In 2022, Northeastern Illinois University officially applied for and was officially designated as a Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation (TRHT) Campus Center. Born from the vision and multi-million-dollar investment of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, the TRHT movement promotes structural change and radical transformation through Narrative Change, Racial Healing & Relationship Building.
Two emerging TRHT initiatives at NEIU are:
- Latinx Testimonio Project on Shame, Resistance and Healing
- Black Ensemble Theater Institutional Partnership
