Conrad Worrill, director of the Jacob H. Carruthers Center for Inner City Studies, will be a special guest of WVON 1690-AM’s Black Heritage Film Series on Wednesday, Feb. 18, for a screening of “Malcolm X: Make it Plain.”
The documentary will be shown at 7 p.m. at the Showplace Icon Theatre, 150 W. Roosevelt Road in Chicago. A panel discussion and Q&A session will immediately follow the film.
“Malcolm X: Make it Plain” chronicles the man’s journey from his birth to his assassination. His compelling story is told through the memories of people who had close, personal and working relationships with him. The film also features extensive archival footage of Malcolm X, speaking in his own words at meetings and rallies, and in media interviews.
