For University Center of Lake County (UCLC) Students

We do our best to accommodate students taking classes at the University Center of Lake County. With most of our services now available online, University Center students can take advantage of our collections and research tools from whatever location is most convenient.

Reference and Research Help

University Center students have access to the same virtual reference services provided to all NEIU students. Please visit our Ask a Librarian page to see the many ways you can get in touch with us.

Access to Databases

All of our databases and online collections are available to University Center students. Just like from home or anywhere else off campus, students will need to login with their NetID and password to be granted access.

ID Cards

An NEIU ID card is required for all library transactions. If you have not picked yours up yet, IDs must be obtained at the Main Campus Student Union. Please contact info-center@neiu.edu or call (773) 442-4290 for more information.

If you have questions, you can visit the NEIU Office at the University Center located on the second floor in Room 220 B. The office is staffed most Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. However, it is recommended that you make an appointment to ensure staff availability. Please email TransferSteps@neiu.edu.

Printing

A swipe card for printing and copies is available for check out at the first floor service desk. The card is for use in the University Center's printing system and is made available at no cost to NEIU students.

University Center students also receive the same a print quotas as regular NEIU students. However, this quota only applies to the NEIU printing system which does not include the University Center's computers or printers. This means that for University Center students to take advantage of their print quota they will need visit a computer lab at the Main Campus, El Centro or CCICS

I-Share Requests

University Center students can request materials through I-Share just like any other NEIU student. Please keep in mind that the default pickup location will still be the Main Campus Library. For I-Share pickup at the University Center front desk (Student Services), select .NEI .UCLC as the pickup location when making a request. Students are also welcome to have their requests routed to any other I-Share location that may be closer or more convenient. We encourage you to take a look at this map and find the I-Share location nearest you.

I-Share requests can also be used to have local materials from NEIU's collection delivered to whichever I-Share location is most convenient.

WORLDSHARE Article Requests

WorldShare requests for articles from other libraries made by University Center students work the same as they would for any other NEIU student. Once processed, the article is delivered electronically.

University Center students also have the option to make WorldShare requests for print articles from our own local collection. When making such a request, be sure to specify in the Note field that you are a student at the University Center. Otherwise the request may be rejected.

WORldshare Book Requests

For requesting books via WorldShare, please specify in the Notes field that you are a University Center student, and the item will be sent for pickup at the University Center front desk (Student Services).
