WILLIAM TENNENT HIGH SCHOOL | BIOLOGY

“I was worried I would feel out of place when I transferred to Northeastern, but there are more people my age here which makes me feel comfortable coming back to classes. I like that the average age is over 30 and a lot of people are coming back for second degrees or to complete their degrees for the first time.

I’ve gained more confidence working on scientific projects and reading scientific articles, which were very intimidating before I came here. I know where to find the information to learn more and how to ask the right questions to understand the important points of the project or articles.

Other aspects of campus I love are the rock climbing gym and high ropes course at the Physical Education Complex. I find it amazing that we have the NEIU Adventure Program on our campus, and I take advantage of the cost being covered in our tuition while I am a student.

I would definitely tell a transfer student to come here for the amazing internship opportunities like working at the famous Field Museum of Natural History or taking classes to delve into really unique studies about turtles or circadian rhythms.”
