Chicago Film Society Screenings at NEIU
SPRING 2024
Presented by the Chicago Film Society
Sponsored by the Department of Communication, Media and Theatre
This spring marks the 22nd season of NEIU’s collaboration with the Chicago Film Society. This season, we have another great line-up for you. We begin with “Tabu: A Story of the South Seas,” a 1931 collaboration between the legendary silent film director F.W. Murnau and documentary pioneer Robert Flaherty. Other highlights of the season include a new restoration of Jean Renoir’s 1947 film, “The Woman on the Beach,” Yasujirō Ozu’s timeless masterpiece “Tokyo Story,” and Luis Buñuel’s critically acclaimed 1961 satire, “Viridiana.” Rounding out the season are 1962’s “Kid Galahad” starring Elvis Presley, a rare surviving release print of Fran Rubel Kuzui’s 1988 “Tokyo Pop,” a Shirley Temple short film, and so much more! Check out the full schedule below.
