On behalf of our faculty, staff, and students, welcome to the College of Business and Technology (CBT) at Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU). NEIU’s Main Campus is located on the Northwest Side of Chicago. It is ranked as the safest college campus in Illinois and one of the safest in the nation. We’re known for being leaders in graduating our students with the least amount of debt and for having the most diverse campus in the Midwest.
The CBT strives to offer accessible and relevant education in a supportive environment to help our diverse learners achieve their personal and professional goals. I’ve had the privilege of leading the College since 2013, and you can also find me teaching an HR course! I am proud of your numerous and continuous accomplishments, including:
- Obtaining AACSB Accreditation, recognizing our business programs as being in the top 6% globally.
- Evolving from the College of Business and Management to the College of Business and Technology after adding Computer Science programs.
- Expanding student programming, including career readiness and professional development.
- Establishing the first CBT Living Learning Community.
- Establishing the Golden Eagles Esports Team.
- We are also working towards the premier ABET accreditation for our Computer Science Programs.
I invite you to explore our educational offerings: (1) traditional degree programs and (2) community institute programs.
The real question is, “Where do you fit in?”
Traditional Degree Programs
Do you see yourself as an entrepreneur, marketing professional, data analyst, accountant, computer scientist creating a new AI product for a company, or a cybersecurity analyst working to prevent hacking? The CBT offers four bachelor’s degrees (Business, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, and Information Technology); and three master's degrees (MBA, M.S. Accounting, M.S. Computer Science), which can be completed full or part-time. Our students benefit from:
- A blend of research faculty and practitioners that connect knowledge to practice.
- Opportunities to complete professional industry certifications that demonstrate knowledge, such as in Human Resources, Cybersecurity, and Marketing.
- Formalized professional development opportunities connected to industry via student clubs, activities, and in-field service.
- Multi-cultural expertise as you spend every class day embedded in one of North America's most diverse student bodies.
- Accessible global faculty – someone who understands you and where you come from!
- Knowledgeable and dedicated staff who are here to guide you.
- Flexible learning with courses offered in-person, hybrid, and online in the morning, days, evenings, and weekends.
- Academic learning with tools and resources such as tutors, a virtual lab, and subscriptions to prestigious periodicals such as the Wall Street Journal.
Do you look for something other than a traditional degree? Our CBT Community Institute can help!
