The Community Music Program (CMP) at Northeastern Illinois University offers weekly private lessons in piano, voice, strings, woodwinds, brass, guitar and percussion. The CMP instructors include Junior Faculty (Northeastern undergraduate and graduate students), Senior Faculty (professionals) and Artist Faculty (Northeastern full-time faculty artists or special guest artists). Lessons are offered in 30-, 45-, and 60-minute increments and students sign up for the entire session offered. (Lessons with Artist Faculty may also be taken on a one-by-one basis.) Group lessons are available for some instruments.
Please call us if you do not see an offering that meets your needs. Piano instructors will start students at age 5 and up. Guitar students age 6 and older.
