John Smith
My time at Northeastern Illinois University had a tremendous impact on the trajectory of my academic career. My participation in the McNair Scholars and University Honors program exposed me to several research experiences and educational funding opportunities. As a scholar in those programs, I completed an internship at Northwestern University and a mentorship with Dr. Dykema-Engblade from Northeastern Illinois University’s psychology department. I completed my honors thesis under Dr. Dykema-Engblade’s tutelage. I presented my thesis work at the Annual Midwestern Psychological Association and the National Ronald E. McNair Research Conference. Currently, I am a Ph.D. student at University of Nebraska-Lincoln. My program emphasis is Global Family Health and Well-being. I truly believe that without the academic foundation provided to me at Northeastern Illinois University, I would not be the scholar I am today. |
