This course is a brief introduction to drawing the human form. We will explore traditional materials, techniques, and fundamental principles of drawing as we develop a greater understanding of the human figure. Technical anatomical issues are not the primary focus of this course but we will develop a basic understanding of the underlying skeletal structure and how this affects observable surface anatomy. Our practical study will be supplemented with some discussion of how master artists throughout history have approached different figure drawing problems.
This playwriting workshop will act as a catalyst to help you plan, write, and create a short (10 minute) one-act drama or comedy for personal enjoyment and/or presentation. Participants will share ideas and create scripts in a supportive, collaborative setting through prompts and guided imagery exercises. Playwriting knowledge is not a prerequisite. Taught by poet, playwright, actor, and award-winning director Jim Blair, this workshop will kick-start your next creative project.
