Northeastern professor publishes debut novel

Tuesday, September 9, 2014

Bradley Greenburg is a Shakespearean in the classroom, but what ends up on paper when he sits down to write is decidedly American. Case in point: “When Lilacs Last in the Dooryard Bloomed,” the Northeastern Illinois University professor’s recently released debut novel. “I don’t write fiction set in the Renaissance period or in England,” said Greenburg, who has been teaching at Northeastern since 2001. (Though his publisher, Sandstone Press, is based in Scotland.)
