Caminos al Éxito
Caminos al Éxito is an outreach and retention program that supports the transition of students from thirteen partnered Chicago Public Schools and Wilbur Wright College. We do this by engaging and supporting students, families, teachers, staff, and administrators on post-secondary options and careers awareness.

Creating Access to STEM for All (CASA) is a STEM-focused learning community for all students considering STEM fields.
First-Year Experience
First-Year Experience classes are integrated into the core freshman curriculum. In addition to focusing on regular coursework, these classes assist in the transition from high school to college, help improve study habits and identify unique learning styles.
Google Computer Science Summer Institute Extension
Google Computer Science Summer Institute Extension (CSSI-Extension) is a four-week program supported by NEIU faculty, staff and peer mentors. The program’s goal is to increase the number of women, underrepresented ethnic minority students, first-generation, and low-income college students in the field of computer science.
University Honors Program
The University Honors Program (UPH) consists of students and faculty from all degree granting undergraduate programs. Honors courses provide students with opportunities to discuss and analyze subject matter in much more depth and with much greater individualized attention.
Intensive English Program: SAELL
The School for the Advancement of English Language and Learning (SAELL) is designed for non-native speakers of English who have a strong desire to improve their English proficiency.
International Programs
The Office of International Programs serves international students seeking a bachelor's or master’s degree; exchange students from more than 40 partner universities; NEIU students who wish to study abroad; visiting scholars and other international guests; and NEIU faculty who wish to internationalize their research and/or teaching.
MARC U-STAR PROGRAM
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) MARC U-STAR Program is for students who are interested in pursuing doctoral degrees in biomedical/behavioral research after graduation from NEIU. The program offers research training throughout the year, summer research opportunities, travel to conferences, as well as a monthly stipend and tuition coverage for 2 years.
McNair Scholars
The goal of the McNair Scholars program is to increase the attainment of doctoral degrees by students from underrepresented segments of society. The program works closely with undergraduate participants, encourages their entrance into graduate programs, and tracks progress to the successful completion of advanced degrees.
MSTQE Program
The Office of Math, Science, and Technology for Quality Education (MSTQE) uniquely incorporates both mathematics and science content in its Math and Science Concepts minor. The program is committed to preparing pre-service teachers to teach math and general science at the Elementary and Middle Levels.
NSF Noyce Scholars Program
The National Science Foundation (NSF) Noyce Scholarship Program is for students who are interested in teaching mathematics and/or science—particularly in high-need high schools.
Peace Corps Prep Program
The Peace Corps Prep program prepares undergraduate students for international development fieldwork and potential Peace Corps service. Students completing the program also receive a certificate directly from the Peace Corps.
