Northeastern to host Education Job Fair

Northeastern Illinois University will host an Education Job Fair on Tuesday, Feb. 24. The free event, which will draw more than 50 school districts from eight states, is scheduled from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. in Alumni Hall, 3701 W. Bryn Mawr Ave. in Chicago. A Level 2 parking permit is required to park a vehicle on campus for the job fair. Attendees may purchase a one-day permit for $5 at the parking permit kiosk located in Lot H or on the first floor of the parking garage. 

Northeastern to host Women in Operations Management Panel Discussion

The Association for Operations Management (APICS) will host its annual Women in Operations Management Panel Discussion on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at Northeastern Illinois University. The panel, moderated by Kraft Foods Senior Manager Nancy Villani, will consist of a diverse group of women who are all successful operations professionals. They will share personal stories in what led to their current positions and encourage people to strive for leadership roles in the operations field.

Stage Center Theatre brings ‘Gregor and the Squonk’ to the stage

Northeastern Illinois University’s Stage Center Theatre will debut its latest production, “Gregor and the Squonk,” on Thursday, Feb. 19. This play is a modern fairytale with a bit of a twist. It tells a story of Margaret Courtepy and her undying desire for beauty, which has led her to an obsession with plastic surgery. Meanwhile, husband Gregor Courtepy is in search of a mystical squonk, who has the ability to grant eternal beauty.

Northeastern to host Black Heritage Awards Ceremony

Several members the Northeastern Illinois University community will be honored during the 13th Annual Black Heritage Awards Ceremony on Feb. 20. “We hear so much about the work to be done in order to promote African-American success, and we are doing that work,” African and African American Resource Center Director Kim Everett said. “On this night, we pause to celebrate the many people doing great things for and with African-Americans at Northeastern.”
