Forward 150 launched as a comprehensive University initiative on January 13 with a town hall meeting featuring comments from the chairs of the Faculty Senate, the University Planning and Budget Council, the University Advisory Council, and the University President. (The Student Government Association President was unable to attend to provide comments.) That meeting kicked off a series of discussions in small facilitated working groups that were divided between four topics: student success, academic programs, money, and mission.
The Forward 150 discussions wrapped up in May with a list of recommendations to the president. Meetings resumed in August with a focus on two themes taken from the recommendations to the president: an examination of the University's budgeting model and a program prioritization process that will help Northeastern determine how to grow student-centered programs in all areas. Conversations on those two topics have taken place on alternating weeks through the fall semester and will continue throughout the academic year.
