History
Northeastern Illinois University Men's Volleyball Club began in the beginning of the 2008 school year. This club volleyball team was formed to practice and compete against other schools. The club started off with 12 members practicing and competing together as a team. We hope to continue this club for years to come..
General Information
We encourage all current students to be part of our club. Playing experience isn't necessary. But due to the level of competition that we play against, there may be a traveling team among the club. This only depends on the number of members we have. If we have enough members we will be able to make two teams. Throughout the season we compete in competitive tournaments around Chicago and other cities and also home and away games.
Tournaments are held on Saturdays and notice of which tournaments we have selected to go to, are given months in advance. We play anywhere from 4 to 8 tournaments a year. Also throughout the season which goes from the Fall to Spring Semesters we have home and away games that are usually on Thursday nights. We are also part of a conference that has a final tournament for all the schools involved at the end of the season and before nationals. We are part of the Midwest Collegiate Volleyball Association (MCVA). Depending on how well we due in tournaments and home/away games, this will determine how we get seeded in the conference tournament.
