Northeastern Illinois University’s Child Care Center is licensed to care for a maximum of 87 children at a time ranging in age from 15 months to 6 years.

Enrollment is open on a first-come, first-served basis considering space availability within each particular age group, and the ability to match schedules within the following priority groups:

  1. Currently enrolled families
  2. Siblings of currently enrolled families
  3. NEIU students
  4. NEIU faculty and staff
  5. Community members

You will receive a call from the Child Care Center to notify you when there is an opening.

Pre-register your child by completing and submitting our pre-registration application.

Registration Requirements

Toddler Program

The child must be:

  1. 15 to 30 months of age (a copy of the child’s birth certificate is required)
  2. Enrolled for a minimum of five half days per week

Preschool Program

The child must be:

  1. Two to five years of age (a copy of the child’s birth certificate is required)
  2. Thoroughly potty trained (should a problem arise, the teacher will make the final decision as to whether the child is to remain in the preschool)
  3. Enrolled for a minimum of two half days per week

Kindergarten Program

The child must be:

  1. Five years old by September 1st (a copy of the child’s birth certificate is required)
  2. Enrolled for a minimum of five half days, 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. daily from September through June. A non-refundable deposit (1st month and last two weeks of tuition will be due prior to September)

Summer Camp

The child must be:

  1. Six to eight years of age (a copy of the child’s birth certificate is required)
  2. Enrolled for a minimum or two full days
