Student learning happens both within the classroom and outside of it. To fully understand student learning outcomes at Northeastern Illinois University means that all programs that take an active role in helping students to learn are reviewed. These include Academic Development Programs, as well as Leadership Development Programs in Student Life and Special Academic Program Initiatives such as the First-year Experience Program , Diversity and Cultural Programs sponsored by the Angelina Pedroso Center, and the Honors Program to name a few.
While these programs do not confer degrees, they enable students to engage in personal and social development, in learning how to study, in learning how to think critically, communicate effectively in diverse settings and "lead in the world.""
Beginning in 2011, these programs are included as part of regular periodic program review activities. The templates below provide some guidelines for the development of the self-study prior to the engagement of an external reviewer. OAPR will contact programs to initiate self study and professional development and necessary consultations to complete the process.
