Is this for me?

If you like the curious, enthusiastic and investigative nature of young children's approach to learning, you will find your course of study both exciting and enlightening throughout your coursework and field experiences. Upon graduation and certification you will enjoy a very rewarding career - teaching young children.

Prospects

Research in the last few decades has highlighted the importance of providing young children a strong foundation for development and learning. There is therefore renewed interest in high quality Early Childhood Education in the US; and the need for qualified professionals to work with young children in increasingly diverse and challenging settings. A graduate teaching degree with Type 04 Certification is an un-diminishing asset. Our graduates will be sought after both within Chicago and beyond. There will be a possibility to student-teach outside the United States (e.g. in South Korea) for interested students.
