Alumni Career Connections (ACC) - Next event: Fall 2017

ACC brings alumni and current students together in a "speed networking" format that brings about informational interviewing, personal career arc exploration and the opportunity to provide prospective mentorship by alumni to students. Additionally, students submit resumes for evaluation and feedback, and alumni are encouraged to suggest best practice advice to students navigating their pre-career choices. These programs are offered once a semester and pre-registration is encouraged.

Taking Eagles Hire! - Next event: Fall 2017

This event matches current students with mentors, job shadowing opportunities, internships or prospective employment at businesses referred to the Office of Alumni Relations by Northeastern alumni. Career Development Center staff work one-on-one with interested alumni and students to create customized experiential learning opportunities overseen by faculty advisors assigned to this initiative. Experiential learning is a process through which students attain knowledge skills, and values from direct experiences outside a traditional academic setting. It develops and cultivates other professional and intellectual skills highly valued by prospective employers.

The Career Connections Job Club (CCJC) - Next event: Summer 2017

Designed for alumni in transition, the CCJC is a support system that guides alumni in creating a "career narrative" that can be utilized for discovering new professional opportunities. Through small group interaction, participants learn to deepen their sense of a work identity, engage in a forum to gain peer support and express progress in their search. A Career Development Center counselor guides the group through five weekly sessions where participants work on personal goal setting and provide feedback to other group members. Guest presenters, personal development research and a self-evaluation assignment through a complimentary copy of StrengthsFinder 2.0 are all part of the program.*

*Available only to upgraded members at the Blue & Gold membership level or higher.

Other resources on campus that complement this program include the Ronald Williams Library Multimedia Resource Learning Center workshops as well as access to computer labs and various Alumni Center services and programs.
