New Group Lessons for Piano and Guitar!
The Community Music Program (CMP) at Northeastern Illinois University offers weekly private lessons in piano, voice, strings, woodwinds, brass, guitar (classical, acoustic, electric) and percussion. The CMP instructors include Junior Faculty (NEIU undergraduate and graduate students), Senior Faculty (professionals) and Artist Faculty (NEIU full-time faculty artists or special guest artists). Lessons are offered in 30-, 45- and 60-minute increments, and students sign up for the entire session offered. New private lesson students, please fill out this form first.
Color Guard Clinics (Movement, Flags)
This two-day clinic is for participants 14-21 years of age who have had some experience with color guard. Instruction in dance, flag, and rifle will challenge performers to explore new movements and expression. Clinicians include instructors and performers with the South Shore Drill Team. Please bring your own equipment if you have it. If you do not have equipment, please let us know by emailing: firstname.lastname@example.org
This Youth Color Guard summer day camp is a week long adventure where participants will enjoy learning both basic dance techniques as well as flag work used in the color guard activity. Color Guard is an evolving sport of the arts that provides performance opportunities for all. This activity teaches artistry and precision. Throughout the week, participants will learn how to interpret different styles of music through the movement of their bodies and equipment. There will be an end of the week performance to showcase the participants' hard work. All equipment is provided. Previous experience is not required.

July 29 - August 5, 2017
This playwriting workshop will act as a catalyst to help you plan, write, and create a short (10 minute) one-act drama or comedy for personal enjoyment and/or presentation. Participants will share ideas and create scripts in a supportive, collaborative setting through prompts and guided imagery exercises. Playwriting knowledge is not a prerequisite. Taught by poet, playwright, actor, and award-winning director Jim Blair, this workshop will kick-start your next creative project.
