Campus Sex Crimes Prevention Act
The NEIU Police Department considers the protection of our community from sex offenders of significant importance. The objective of the Campus Sex Crimes Prevention Act was to provide adequate notice to the community concerning sex offenders who are, or will be attending, working or residing near the campus, and to assist our community members in developing constructive plans to prepare themselves and their children for residing near released sex offenders. The Campus Sex Crimes Prevention Act requires institutions of higher education to inform the campus community in their annual security reports where registered offender information may be obtained. Sex offender information can be found at the website links below. All Persons required to register must also submit information regarding attendance or employment at an institution of higher education. A copy of those persons who have reported attendance or employment at Northeastern Illinois University is kept at the NEIU Police Department. We offer the Chicago Police Department’s Sex Offender Registry because Northeastern Illinois University is located in the Chicago Police Department's 17th District. NEIU is also located in the Chicago district for the State Police.
