The following services are offered to students:
Assessment
Care of minor illness
Basic First Aid
Suture removal
Smoking cessation
Equipment/video loan
Nutrition guidance
Emergency contraception
Students do not need to be covered under NEIU's Student Health Insurance Plan in order to use these services. The Student Health Service fee supports our office.
An appointment is needed for all services except over-the-counter medications (such as aspirin) and basic first aid.
The following tests are offered to students:
Cholesterol
Rapid Strep A
Pregnancy
Hemoglobin
Blood pressure
Blood Sugar
Dipstick Urinalysis
HIV-GC/Chlamydia
Tuberculosis (TB)*

The following vaccines are offered to students:
Meningitis Vaccine*
Gardasil HPV Vaccine
* There is an $82 fee to offset the cost of the vaccine.
Birth Control
Students can obtain free condoms from Health Services. Male condoms, female condoms, dental dams, lubricant and latex-free male condoms are available.
Other birth control methods are available. Please make an appointment (by phone or in person) with our Advanced Practice Nurse.
Other Services
The Stress-Free Zone is provided during Finals week as a place for students to relax and reduce the stress of exams.
