NEIU provides the opportunity for transfer students in the Lake County region to complete their Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at the University Center.

The NEIU Transfer Center is located in Room 220B at the University Center.
Transfer Scholarships
Northeastern offers various scholarships geared specifically for transfer students.
Students are automatically considered for the Provost and Deans Merit Scholarships upon application for admission to Northeastern Illinois University. Completion of an additional application is not necessary.
Provost Merit Scholarship ($2,000)
Awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to prospective transfer students who apply early for admission and who meet the following criteria:
- Illinois Resident
- Cumulative transfer GPA of 3.50
- Earned Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree (or at least 60 credit hours)
- Must enroll as a full time student
Deans Merit Scholarship ($1,000)
Awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to prospective transfer students who apply early for admission and who meet the following criteria:
- Illinois Resident
- Cumulative transfer GPA of 3.00
- Earned Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree (or at least 60 credit hours)
- Must enroll as a full time student

Veterans Services
Northeastern has expanded services for military personnel, veterans, and their dependents. These include specialized assistance in admission, federal and state educational benefits, orientation to Northeastern, and the enrollment process.
