Step 1 for Freshmen- Register for Placement Exams
New Student and Family Programs All freshmen are required to participate in Orientation. In order to register for Orientation, you must first schedule your placement exams through New Student and Family Programs by calling (773) 442-5476. Admitted freshmen cannot participate in Orientation unless they have completed their placement exams prior to attending an Orientation session.
Placement Exams Placement exams (both English and Math placement Test) are offered through New Student and Family Programs for incoming freshmen and transfer students. Dependent on how you scored on your ACT’s, New Student and Family Programs will schedule specific test for you. You can learn more about which test you will be required to take once you schedule your exams. You must schedule your exams prior to attending an Orientation session. Step 2 for Freshmen- Register for Orientation
Student Orientation Student orientation programs will help you become acquainted with NEIU and to make your life easier as a first-year student. Freshmen must attend an orientation session in order to register for classes, meet with an advisor, register for parking, receive your student ID card, and learn more about student services at NEIU. Registration for Orientation is $65 for Summer. You can register for Orientation by contacting the New Student and Family Programs at (773) 442-5476. Step 3 for Freshmen- Apply for Financial Aid and Scholarships
Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships We strongly encourage students interested in attending NEIU to apply for financial aid as soon as possible. More specifically, we encourage a FAFSA application priority deadline of March 15. The sooner you apply for aid, the better we can serve you in determining your eligibility and your financial package. If you are interested in applying for scholarships, please note that there is a separate application for NEIU Scholarships. The deadline for scholarships is March 15.
