Sponsored Programs
Welcome to the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP)
The Office of Sponsored Programs supports NEIU’s mission to provide an exceptional environment for learning, teaching, and scholarship. OSP supports faculty and other university personnel to secure externally funded grants and contracts by: 1) identifying sources of funding (federal, state, and local government as well as corporate and foundation sources) for specific projects; 2) acting as the agency liaison to funders; 3) assisting with proposal development and submission; and 4) initiating awards.
The OSP also facilitates the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and serves as the starting point for faculty and students conducting research using human subjects. In this role, the OSP ensures that the administration of sponsored programs is consistent with applicable laws, regulations, policies and funder requirements.
Since FY 2007, the OSP has assisted in the submission of over 250 proposals for faculty and staff projects which have generated over 65 million dollars in grant awards
