International Students
Students from other countries who are currently in the United States on a valid F or J visa and who meet the necessary criteria for admission are eligible to apply to Northeastern Illinois University with an International Student status.
International applicants are eligible for admission to degree programs only and may not be admitted as students-at-large. All documentation must be completed and submitted by the published deadline for the term in which the student is applying to ensure proper processing of the Certificate of Eligibility for Non-Immigrant Student Status (I-20 Form). Students who are out-of-status will not be considered for admission.
Once enrolled, students are required to meet with the International Student Advisor in the Office of International Programs. They will be advised on important issues, including:
Orientation |
Extent of the program |
Changing majors |
Practical training | All international students must maintain full-time enrollment in order to comply with federal regulations.
