Graduate Students
Through its College of Graduate Studies and Research and faculty, Northeastern Illinois University provides the resources, the facilities and the academic environment to advance learning, to foster creativity, and to nurture intellectual independence in graduate education.
Currently, the College of Graduate Studies and Research offers Master's degree programs in 38 academic concentrations. All students enrolled in the College of Graduate Studies and Research are governed by its policies and procedures. For that reason, graduate students have different tuition rates, grievance procedures, and registration processing than the rest of the university students. They are eligible to apply for teaching/research assistantships and tuition waivers available through the College and the individual departments.
The College of Graduate Studies and Research accommodates individuals who are pursuing a Master's degree on a part-time basis by offering the majority of its coursework during the late afternoon and evening hours.
