Hanna Kim

Assistant professor, teacher education, earned her Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin in science education, specializing in education technology. Prior to joining NEIU, she worked as a science education faculty member at DePaul University and an instructional technologist at Oakton College. Kim was the director of the InSTEP (Inquiry-based Science and Technology Program), which created strategies for teachers to use to counter the lack of interest in science during the middle school years; it used innovative technology to explore various science investigations to support their interest. At NEIU, she is interested in developing online science courses for teachers and students in the education field to give students and teachers more access to NEIU educational programs regardless of their demographics.
