Arthur F. Linsner

Biography A student of Emory Remington and Frank Crisafulli, Arthur Linsner has over 30 years of experience as a professional musician. He has toured and recorded with the Woody Herman and Chuck Mangione orchestras, and has performed with the Chicago Symphony, Milwaukee Symphony, Grant Park Symphony and Lyric Opera orchestras. He has also performed with the Bolshoi, Joffrey and American Ballet Theatre orchestras, as well as with Music of the Baroque and Ars Viva.
Mr. Linsner has played in the pit for over 100 musical theatre productions including Les Miserables, Miss Saigon, Chicago, The Producers and The Lion King. He has performed with numerous entertainers including Luciano Pavarotti, Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder and Harry Connick, Jr.; and he has recorded radio and television commercials for over 200 companies such as United Airlines, Sears and McDonald’s.
The varied demands of a free-lance career have required Mr. Linsner to play most of the low brass instruments including tenor trombone, bass trombone, contra-bass trombone, bass sackbut, bass trumpet, euphonium and tuba.
Mr. Linsner’s teaching credentials include 18 years as a part-time trombone instructor at Northwestern University; private low brass instruction at DePaul University's Community Music Division; and area high schools.
