Northeastern Illinois University's Asst. VP for Student Affairs Receives National Award
CHICAGO – Northeastern Illinois University's (NEIU) Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs Juan R. Guardia is the 2013 NASPA Mid-Level Student Affairs Professional Award Recipient. This award recognizes individuals with a minimum of five years experience who demonstrate outstanding commitment to the profession and who have contributed to programs that address the needs of students and are experienced in creating campus environments that promote student learning and personal development.
Dr. Guardia is the chief administrator of NEIU's Angelina Pedroso Center for Diversity and Intercultural Affairs, managing the Center's daily operations and supervising the five directors of the resource centers.
"I am humbled to have been chosen as the recipient of the NASPA national Mid-Level Student Affairs Professional award," said Dr. Guardia. "It is an honor to have been nominated and I am thankful to the individuals who believe I am worthy of such an award."
The National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) is the leading association for the advancement, health, and sustainability of the student affairs profession. Dr. Guardia will be honored in March during the 2013 NASPA Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida.
