Student Travel Award
Undergraduate and Graduate students presenting their original work at academic conferences are invited to apply for NEIU Foundation Student Travel Awards. These awards are made possible by private contributions to the NEIU Leader Fund. All NEIU students are eligible to apply. Funding is limited, and the selection process is competitive.
Applications must be submitted to the Office of Institutional Advancement by the application deadline in order to be considered for funding. Late applications will not be considered.

Approval of funding is determined by the Office of the Provost. Applications must be complete in order to be processed. Incomplete applications will not be sent to the Provost’s Office for consideration. Applications that are submitted directly to the Office of the Provost instead of the Office of Institutional Advancement will not be considered.
Awards are available in the amount of up to $600 for domestic travel and up to $1,000 for international travel. Travel Awards provide funding for major travel expenses only including airfare, hotel/lodging and conference registration. Funds may not be used for local transit, rental car, food, drink or entertainment, including conference-related activities and events.
Only one award is available per conference. Multiple students attending the same conference may apply to share one travel award (standard domestic/international award amounts apply).
Applications are processed quarterly based on travel date, and for the 2012-2013 academic year, there is a total of $2,500 available each quarter.
