Carruthers Center for Inner City Studies
Welcome to the Carruthers Center for Inner City Studies (CCICS) of Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU). CCICS is located at 700 East Oakwood Boulevard in Chicago's historic Bronzeville neighborhood. Since 1966, CCICS has established itself as a premier African-centered institution in higher education throughout the world. The Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in Inner City Studies Education (ICSE) have prepared thousands of students to work as professionals in a multiplicity of inner city agencies, institutions, and organizations, both public and private. The scholar/activist tradition established at CCICS is the hallmark and foundation of our work. The warm and caring atmosphere of CCICS provides an African-centered educational climate that enhances the learning processes of all those who participate in our academic programs. Please examine our webpage carefully and contact us so that we can begin to interact with you and assist you in obtaining your education goals.
