Northeastern Illinois University’s Child Care Center is licensed to care for a maximum of 87 children at a time, ranging in age from 15 months to 6 years.
Enrollment is open on a first-come, first-served basis considering space availability within each particular age group and the ability to match schedules within the following priority groups:
- Currently enrolled families
- Siblings of currently enrolled families
- NEIU students
- NEIU faculty and staff
- Community members
You will receive a call from the Child Care Center to notify you when there is an opening.
Pre-register your child by completing our pre-registration application and submitting it to c-hidaka@neiu.edu.
Registration Requirements
Toddler Program
The child must be:
- 15 to 24 months of age (a copy of the child’s birth certificate is required)
- Enrolled for a minimum of five half-days per week
Preschool Program
The child must be:
- Two years (24 months) to 5 years of age (a copy of the child’s birth certificate is required)
- Thoroughly potty-trained, except children in the Dolphin room. (Should a problem arise, the teacher will make the final decision as to whether the child is to remain in the preschool.)
- Any child who is enrolled in the Dolphin Room but has not completed potty training will be charged at the toddler tuition rate.
- Enrolled for a minimum of two half-days per week.
