Student Success programs at Northeastern Illinois University are designed for students who may need additional academic, social and/or cultural support. Students who do not meet full admission requirements may be eligible for admission through these Student Success Programs. Please see the instructions section of the Admissions Application for further instructions on applying to an Student Success Program.

Carruthers Center for Inner City Studies (CCICS)

Carruthers Center for Inner City Studies is a student success program available to students who demonstrate academic potential but do not meet the general admission requirements. CCICS is open to freshmen and transfer applicants and admits throughout the academic year.

El Centro

El Centro is a student success program available to students who demonstrate academic potential but do not meet the general admission requirements. El Centro is open to freshmen and transfer applicants and admits throughout the academic year.

Project Succes

Project Success is a student support program that has historically and continues to serve African American or first generation college students who demonstrate academic potential, but do not meet the general university admissions requirements. This program is open only to freshmen applicants and only admits during the fall semester.

Proyecto Pa’Lante

Proyecto Pa'Lante is a student support program that has historically and continues to serve Latino or first generation college students who demonstrate academic potential, but do not meet the general university admissions requirements. This program is open only to freshmen applicants and only admits during the fall semester.
