PLEASANT PLAINS HIGH SCHOOL | BIOLOGY
“At Northeastern there is a spot for everyone. There are students from many backgrounds who are pursuing their education in many different ways: first-time college students of all ages, students returning to school for whatever reason, students who want to be involved on campus, and students who just want to get their degrees.
I am grateful that NEIU has given me the opportunity to start a new path in life. One faculty member who stands out is Dr. Tom Campbell, my BIO 202 professor during my first semester. From the first day, he made a conscious effort to get to know all of his students on an individual level and used this personal knowledge to connect the class work to our interests. He gave us a level of freedom in our work that inspired me to explore my education in my own way.
Most of my growth has occurred outside of the classroom. I’ve attended lectures and workshops, participated in affinity groups, taken on leadership roles and made some incredible connections. My confidence in my voice has grown and my passion for learning has increased exponentially.”
