Associate professor and chair, teacher education, started her career as a foreign language teacher. Serving as an assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction, and bilingual program director in Illinois, she has more than 20 years of experience in Pre-K curriculum development, teacher education and program administration. She is an advocate for second language education and equity. Her research interest lies in ethnographic studies and action research related to multilingual/multicultural education.
