Assistant professor, anthropology, conducts research focused on the paleobiology, paleoecology, and biogeography of the extinct South American primates with a special emphasis on the Caribbean region. Her particular interests center on understanding how the modern primate radiation developed in the diverse environments of the neotropics from the Miocene to the present. Currently, she conducts paleontological fieldwork in the Dominican Republic with a multi-institutional team of researchers and cave drivers. The project goals include not only the recovery of additional fossils, but also include the analysis of faunal distributions, paleoecology, and patterns of extinction on Hispaniola.
