  • NEIU MAKES BIG GAINS IN STUDENT SATISFACTION
    The third annual Great Service Matters professional development conference was held March 16-17. The keynote, "Understanding the Priorities of Student and Campus Personnel to Improve Student Retention and Determine an Action Plan," included a three-hour session on Northeastern's Noel-Levitz Student Satisfaction Inventory (SSI) results, Fall 2010. The SSI analyzes student satisfaction and how it directly links to student success and retention. Read Article

  • WORK OF LEGENDARY ILLINOIS BLACK MUSICIANS COLLECTED AT CCICS
    Illinois is known as the Land of Lincoln, but it is also the land of Jelly Roll Morton, Louis Armstrong and Mahalia Jackson. Those legendary African-American musicians and many others made Illinois their home at some point in their lives. Godfrey Mason has been dedicated to locating and sharing information about such artists through the establishment of the Great Black Music Project (GBMP) at the Carruthers Center for Inner City Studies.   • STUDENTS SIMULATE ILLINOIS GOVERNMENT
    Fifteen delegates representing the NEIU Model Illinois Government (MIG) team participated in the 33rd Annual Model Illinois Government Simulation held at the State Capitol Complex in Springfield in late February.
