STARTALK: Summer 2019 Training Program for Teachers of Arabic
The Multilingual Learning Center is looking for 20-25 teachers of Arabic to participate in a three-week professional development training sponsored by STARTALK. The program aims to train a group of Arabic language educators of elementary age students. The outcomes of the program are twofold. First, the program will develop teachers who are competent in implementing standards based Arabic language instruction in their classrooms as a result of their participation in the program. Second, the candidates will participate in 60 instructional hours of teacher training activities spread out over three weeks in July 2019. They will ultimately learn how to integrate culture, content, and language in Arabic instruction at various proficiency levels and needs.
