Cancellation Policy
Should it become necessary for the Office of Community and Professional Education to cancel a non-credit class or workshop, registrants will be informed prior to the first day. Registrants will have the choice of receiving a full refund or applying the value of the refund to a different class or workshop.
Refund Policy
Requests for a refund must be made in person or by email at cape@neiu.edu. (Please note that refund requests by voicemail are not accepted.) To process your request, please indicate your name, and the class or workshop name and date in which you are requesting a refund. The Office of Community and Professional Education will respond to refund requests during normal business hours.
Full refunds minus a 3% processing fee will be given for requests made more than 72 hours before the class or workshop begins. For requests made with 24 to 72 hours notice, 75% of the cost will be refunded. For requests made with less than 24 hours notice, 50% of the cost will be refunded. No refunds will be given once a class or workshop begins. We do not have a "drop class" procedure as we must pay instructors based on enrollment.
Full refunds are given for classes that are canceled due to low enrollment.
Discounts
Discounts are available to NEIU students, faculty, staff, alumni and donors for many (but not all) classes offered by the Office of Community and Professional Education (CAPE). Discounts will only apply to a registration made by the NEIU student, faculty, staff, alumni or donor and not to additional family members. Discounts are applied automatically at checkout and are associated with a person's NEIU email account. Discounts may not be applied in combination (ex: faculty and alumni). If you should be receiving a discount and do not see it applied, please call or email the CAPE office with your NEIU ID number or alumni number at (773) 442-5080 or cape@neiu.edu.
