Campus Sex Crimes Prevention Act

The University Police Department considers the protection of our community from sex offenders of significant importance. The objective of the Campus Sex Crimes Prevention Act was to provide adequate notice to the community concerning sex offenders, who are or will be attending, working or residing near the campus. This information assists our community members in developing constructive plans to prepare themselves and their children for residing near released sex offenders.

Sex offender information is located on the Illinois Sex Offender Registration website. All persons required to register must also submit information regarding attendance or employment at an institution of higher education. A copy of those persons who have reported attendance or employment at Northeastern Illinois University is kept at the University Police Department. Northeastern is located in the Chicago Police Department's 17th District and information regarding registered offenders in the district can be found on the Chicago Police Department’s Sex Offender Registry website. Northeastern is also located in District Chicago for the State Police.
