Office of Alumni Relations Scholarships
The NEIU Office of Alumni Relations supports students by providing academic and career developing resources. With support and funding from our 88,000+ alumni, our office hopes to elevate the academic journey of Northeastern students by providing financial support through scholarships. The Office currently supports the NEIU Alumni Association Internship Scholarship, the Class Gift Scholarship, and the Doris Vrooman Alumni Mentoring Scholarship. Please note, the Robertson Family Education Enrichment Award is currently on pause for the 2024-2025 academic year. All of our scholarships are open to current NEIU students, but some may have eligibility requirements by Student Classification.

All students are strongly encouraged to meet with an academic advisor each semester, and to seek information and assistance from appropriate staff should they have any questions regarding requirements or regulations.
NEIUAA Internship Scholarship
To support and recognize a Northeastern student who will be involved in an internship opportunity at Northeastern Illinois University or at a for-profit company, government entity or non-profit agency for academic credit.
The application deadline for Fall 2024 is Sept. 1, 2024. The application deadline for Spring 2025 is Nov. 1, 2024.
Class Gift Scholarship
Since 1996, graduating seniors have made it a tradition to support the Class Gift Fund, one of the largest scholarship funds at Northeastern. Do you believe you are the next lucky recipient of the Class Gift Scholarship?

The Doris Vrooman Alumni Mentoring Scholarship
The Office of Alumni Relations is pleased to offer an alumni-student mentoring scholarship to current Northeastern Illinois University students who have achieved first semester sophomore status, and to all first semester transfer students. The intention of this scholarship is to aid in student retention and provide guidance to current students from those who have graduated from Northeastern.
The application deadline for Fall 2024 is Sept. 1, 2024. The application deadline for Spring 2025 is Nov. 1, 2024.
The Robertson Family Education Enrichment Award
The goal of the scholarship will be to support underprivileged students of Black/African American and Latinx/Hispanic race/ethnicity at Northeastern Illinois University who have demonstrated courageous resilience in his/her personal narrative. The award may be used to underwrite expenses of tuition, books, fees or personal expenses.
The recipient(s) will participate in an alumni-mentoring opportunity during one full semester. The alumni/student mentoring partnership will include meeting with a Northeastern graduate at least four times during the semester and work with the mentor on a final reflection assignment that summarizes the mentoring experience.
Pleas note: We are not accepting applications for the 2024-2025 Academic Year.
