How Badges Work
1. Sign up for A Badge Challenge Event
Badge Challenge events take place throughout the year. The best way to earn a badge is to sign up for notifications by clicking the link below. We will then alert you when a new event occurs.
2. Complete the Registration Form
Sign Up for the upcoming Badge Challenge Events!
When filling out the registration form, provide an email address that you check often. Also, check that email (and the spam folder) for event and badge information.
3. Check Your Email for the Event details
Most of the Badge Challenge events are offered online and in person. The email will provide information about the sessions. Each online event will have a unique virtual link to attend. Therefore, previous badge challenge Zoom links will not work.
4. Attend the badge challenge event
Attend the in-person session or click the unique link in the pre-session email to join online sessions. Remember, to earn credit toward the badge, you must follow the outlined rules for that challenge. View all past and upcoming badges & criteria.
5. Collect Your Badge Credit!
Within 48-72 hours after the challenge event, you will receive an additional email from Credly, who issues our badges. Follow the prompts and read the supplementary material in the email to collect your badge.
Checking in to a Badge Challenge Event
Some Badge Challenge Events take place over several days and have multiple sessions. Check-ins (generally through a QR code) will be required to track attendance at our events.

I finished the Badge Challenge event. When will I receive my badge?
All badges will be sent out 2-3 days after the event.
How will I get my badge, and what format will it be in?
Your badge will be emailed to you from an organization called Credly.
Do I need to be an NEIU student to sign up for an event?
Not at all! We welcome all students, staff, and faculty from any college, university, or high school to attend. We also welcome anyone from the community who wishes to sharpen their skills.
