Professional Licensure/Certification General Disclosure

As of August 1, 2024, NEIU's Master of Science in Accounting (MSA) program, combined with its Bachelor of Science in Accounting (BSA) program, meets the CPA licensure educational requirements set by all U.S. state and territorial Boards of Accountancy, except for California, with American Samoa not listed as having a state board according to the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA). Graduates of the MSA program with bachelor's degrees from other institutions are advised to seek guidance from the ABLF department to evaluate their background and determine their eligibility for CPA licensure in various states and territories. This disclosure is current as of August 1, 2024, and does not encompass any changes in state or territory requirements subsequent to this date. It is advisable for students to directly communicate with the licensing authority in their respective state or territory to authenticate all licensure and certification stipulations applicable to the jurisdictions in which they intend to practice.
